Russia is insisting that all countries in the West characterized as “unfriendly” will have to pay for Russian products, not in euros but in Russian rubles. This will drive the value of the ruble up.
Meanwhile, in countries that are deemed friendly they will be able use their local currency to buy products. Since most of the world is friendly to Russia this will deepen Russian relations with them.
