Ten years after Occupy, what can we say about it? Some say it fizzled, a product of the limitations of anarchist organization. Others, like the author of this article, say it was present in the popularity of Bernie Sanders, the election of Kshama Sawant, the election of the “Squad” to Congress and the rise in the numbers of DSA. With the exceptions of Kshama Sawant and DSA we don’t think Occupy has anything to do with electing liberals. A better candidate for an Occupy legacy is the persistence of worker-coops in spite of the pandemic.
