One of the reasons why we have advocated the for the need of a new model of the political spectrum is evidenced in Glen Greenwald’s talk about William Krystal.
On the surface it may seem that the Democratic Party, supposedly left-liberal would be the mirror opposite of neoconservatives. After all Cheney and Rice did hold power in the early 2000s. But the Democratic Party since 1985 has become a center-right neoliberal party. In the absence of a strong neoliberal leader on the international front neoconservatives like Krystal have stepped in. As you probably know, neocons’ solution to all foreign policy matters is war.
