As might be expected, the World Socialist Website has attacked Cornel West’s campaign. One important fact is his repeated ultimate support of the Democratic Party over many years. Another is his extension of love to class enemies, including capitalists and the Democratic Party. Additionally, he is an eclectic who mixes and matches various philosophies – from existentialism to pragmatism to touches of Marxism. Like an eclectic, he allows the contradictions within these system to lie next to each other in suspended animation without ever facing and resolving them. We support a third party candidate but we think West is weak. Richard Wolff would be our pick if he would run.
