Indian Farmers Throw a Monkey Wrench into Imperialism and Colonial Economics

The recently successful strike of Indian farmers against the Modi regime has ramifications beyond the Indian state. The strike also has consequences beyond even what the farmers themselves had intended. Their strike will disrupt the international market fundamentalism’s land use. In addition, the Indian farmers’ insistence on growing subsistence crops clashes with the desire of foreign capitalists for these farmers to produce commercial, agricultural crops.
