Part of capitalist ideology is that competition is a larger part of human nature than cooperation. But this is clearly wrong. Without human species’ cooperation as hunters and gatherers, we would have been dead meat. The same is true for capitalism. If there was an absence of worker cooperation on the job there would be no profits for capitalists. Even within capitalism, we can find businesses that are based on cooperation among workers. This 30-minute presentation introduces how cooperatives work. How successful are they? What are their challenges? Case studies are presented briefly.
