The degree of cognitive compartmentalization that goes on in the Yankee population boggles our minds. Suppose a parent’s 12-year-old began to print their own money to get out of debt. The parents might think it was funny at first, but would then inform their child the parent either has to make more real money or curb their spending habits. But the same parent accepts or resigns themselves to the fact that at a macro level, the state itself is out of control in debt.
