The Israeli state, the self-proclaimed “only democracy in the Middle East”, has some strange ideas about democracy when it comes to international relations. Thanks to The Guardian’s investigative reporting, it has found out cyber-surveillance weapons have been sold to 40 countries to monitor the lives of political protesters, journalists and some politicians. The Israeli company NSO, sold this weaponry to those bastion institutions of democracy like the military, law enforcement and spy agencies.
