Among the white collar working class there are nearly 4 million employees of 40,000 call centers based in the U.S. They are part of a labor force that rapidly expanded over the last 40 years due to changes in the way people buy products and get service and support.

This article is about workers in call centers fighting, not only for better working conditions and more money, but also a reorganization of the workplace. Call center workers occupy choke points in the international political economy that has revolutionary potential to both bring the system down and shape a new one.
