Why Voting in Mordor Doesn’t Matter: Let Us Count the Reasons

In this article, Jack Rasmus argues why the popular vote doesn’t matter structurally. Also, in terms of content, the issues the voters want addressed are not on the table for the “candidates”.

First, the popular vote doesn’t matter because it can be overridden by the Electoral College, the home of aristocracy. Second, the vote of swing states matters more than the popular vote. Third, since there are unlimited campaign contributions, who wins depends largely on who has the most money. In terms of content, the most important issue for the voters is inflation. Neither candidate discusses this nor immigration in any kind of meaningful way that goes beyond soundbites. Rising taxes, debt and cuts to social programs are off the table.
