Sometimes cooperatives form intentionally and deliberately. But in coops such as Wings, the story is much more spontaneous. During COVID, roughly 100 people volunteered to deliver food for free. From this, the Wings coop was formed to challenge the monopolistic delivery service, Deliveroo. The good news is that Wings has connected up with Coop-Cycle which is federated across 63 cities. Wings offers higher wages and health benefits, both of which are hard to find in business like these.
