Market fundamentalist Yankees think the economy consists of stock markets, combined with military capitalism. But even they are smart enough to know a real, healthy economy consists of investing in infrastructure and goods. However, they think a depression might last 10 years and no more. But this article argues that we are in the middle of a 20-year slump. Michael Roberts, in his book The Long Depression, writes that there was another slump from 1873-1896.
