Labor Notes doesn’t just write stories about labor fights around the United States from a rank-and-file perspective. It also hosts “trouble-making” conferences. Why do these matter? They matter because whatever kind of training workers are given at all in their unions is limited to their field. Labor Notes’ Troublemakers School also integrates workers from different work sectors by sharing strategies and tactics as well as building solidarity across sectors. This particular Troublemakers school in Western Massachusetts included nurses, carpenters, grocery workers, teachers and social workers.
