This year labor contracts are up in many industries including health care workers, UPS and postal workers, school employees and United Airlines workers. Labor Notes sees the coming collective bargaining not only as a way to better the conditions of unionized workers, but to also show non-unionized workers the benefits of joining unions. They also advocate “swarming solidarity” where workers from various industries join the picket lines of fellow workers in other industries.
