Some Strikes Are More Equal Than Others When They are Supported by the Democratic Party

Volvo workers, FritoLay workers and nickel miners are all in various stages of strikes in Yankeedom and Canada. But what is surprising is the lack of reporting in the social democratic press. This lack of reporting contrasts with many articles Jacobin has published about the Amazon workers in Alabama. According to the author the reason for the Amazon coverage is because the Democratic Party and the Union bureaucracy supported it.  Strikes which are independent of established institutions are not supported because they are outside business unionism and the neoliberal Democratic Party.
