On one hand, bonehead neocons want a tariff on all Chinese goods, thinking myopically this will hurt Chinese trade. On the other hand, neoliberal capitalists don’t want to lose the profits derived from trading with the Chinese. The foreign policy Mordor presents is an example of what happens when a capitalitst nation-state presents any social planning as a communist conspiracy.
