In a capitalist economy where the stock market behaves like a manic-depressive from one day to the next, finance capitalists imagine they have lots to be thankful for.
But underneath the froth there are dark waters. For example treasury bonds, long the mainstay of the financial markets, are now volatile. Commercial banks are increasingly unstable. The debt of the Mordor state is now $33 trillion. Corporate bankruptcy is up 30% and there have been mass layoffs within many industries in the last quarter. The solution for finance capitalists is to ignore these problems and to kick the can down the road.
