No Capitalism as Usual: Biggest Strike Ever in India

Two hundred and fifty million industrial workers, farmers and rural day-laborers responded to a call for a general strike by nine unions in India. The strike stopped steel and coal production in both public and private sectors. It included oil, gas and power generators. Transportation also came to a halt. Students were an important part of the strike, shutting down 60 universities.
