We socialists have known for decades, maybe centuries that the United States is not a democracy. Ben’s talk show describes the extent to which this is supported by a vast body of scientific research.
Having elections does not mean we live in a democracy when both parties are controlled by 10% of the population. To a very large extent the lower classes know this by not bothering to vote in the US for the past 70 years. 40-45% of the population stay away from the polls. The middle classes are the ones who argue most desperately that Mordor is a democracy.
