Michael Hudson on Mordor as a Failed State

The term “failed state” is usually reserved for third world counties that cannot quell conflicts between regions, class and ethnicities.

However, Michael Hudson writes that the power of financial institutions over their society is similar. Students and workers falling so far behind in debt payments they can never get out is a sign that the state has failed to regulate the relationship between its financial institutions and its population.
