Mexican Auto Glass Workers Protect their Independent Union

Here is an inspiring story of a group of 1,900 auto glass workers in Mexico who stood up to a French-owned auto glass company and continued to build their independent union. As is often the case, workers today not only have to fight against capitalists but also against sell-out unions who are in bed with the capitalists. As usual in Labor Notes articles, the author describes the process as well as the ups and downs of figuring out how to sustain their independent union. The message is not of a pristine perfect series of interventions, but of messy, trial-and-error improvisations.
