Direct Elections of Labor Leaders Makes for More Militant Unions

Most labor unions in Mordor are not run democratically. In fact, “union conventions,  huge opportunities to involve the membership in organizing and contract campaigns, instead often resemble a choreographed beauty pageant thrown by the ruling party in a one-party state”.

Recently the more militant  UAW strikes and the Teamsters fight against UPS were led by members who were directly elected by their membership. Conclusion: more bottom-up decision making leads to more radical action.
