All over the world, with the possible exception of the capitalist periphery, the center of the political spectrum is caving in. As Rosa Luxemburg once said, it’s either socialism or barbarism. So far in the world, barbarism has shown its face first. This can be seen most blatantly in the reactions to the Russian operation in Ukraine. Germany has allowed its citizens to join the battle in Ukraine while Japan is tolerating fascists on its domestic front.
