Imports from China, much of them vital, are being kept on ships which cannot dock for weeks because the ships are backed up. So far workers in Seattle and Tacoma are unloading, but going at a slower pace because of Covid safety precautions. Knowing how capitalists ultimately treat these “essential workers”, it’s just a matter of time before capitalists will enforce speed-ups.
