The birth of neoliberalism as an economic doctrine at the end of the 1970s came about at around the same time as neoliberal psychology discovered Joseph Campbell, Mircea Eliade and Carl Jung.
In the case of Jung, he was lauded as a sage by New Deal liberal Bill Moyers at the very time Jung was promoting sinister ideas that were, at the very least, conservative. Matt Ehret’s article links Jung more explicitly to fascism.
