This is a very interesting comparison between the situation facing US capitalists at the end of World War II and the circumstances facing US capitalists today.
On the surface it seems that Trump’s pronouncements, threats and tariffs represent something different from what capitalists tried to do in mid-century. However, in fact it is the latest in an 80-year process of undermining all of what the New Deal put in place.
