In order to appreciate the work of historian Gordon Wood, we have to overcome the propaganda about the American Revolution being just about the United States and England.
Wood points out the conflicts and class struggles going on within the US at the time of the revolution. Wood denied the reductionist attempt by the New York Times author that racism is the most important factor in understanding American history.
