These days it is difficult for any national government to keep international capitalist institutions from infesting and distorting its achievements. In Nicaragua since 2007 the socialist-oriented government has reduced poverty and raised productivity in spite of a war conducted against it by the US and the world capitalist crisis of 2008. But you would never know it if you read World Bank reports.
