Anxious, trigger-happy Mordor was taking no chances on European rulers cutting back-door deals with Russia to get their energy cheaply. Now Chevron and the other oil companies appear to be the only game in town for Europeans. But Mordor only controls European rulers, not its subject’s populations. As coming protests show, European masses generally understand that Mordor through NATO is the real source of their problems, not Russia.
