Capitalist visions of the working class are that freed of the necessity of working, people would become lazy. Obviously, capitalists have not bothered to keep track of the car mechanic who after a full week of work, works on building a new engine on a car in his driveway.
People do lots of creative things for free because of the joy of labor. Remember Marx’s distinction between labor power (wage slavery) and labor, which is human species’ activity making us different from other species. AI will make us even more creative with our free time.
