Venezuela and Iran rank seventh and second in the production of natural gas. However, their power has been curtailed by Yankee sanctions which have produced fuel shortages in Venezuela. To combat this, they recently signed a hydrocarbon alliance that seems to be paying off for the Venezuelan oil industry.
Just as socialist countries used to trade with each other to off-set capitalists’ refusal to trade, so today countries that represent the interests of a multi-polar world must form alliances like this.
