The UCSC students have turned over their fight to the very organization, the UAW, that they initially rebelled against. What they failed to do was to broaden their strike to include workers who are rebelling in health care, transportation and other industries. They could have achieved this by forming rank-and-file committees. We don’t agree that they need an organization coming from the outside to provide leadership.
