Typically with mainstream economics, whenever someone mentions a depression, bourgeois economists smile, pat us on the head as say these are merely “business cycles” which will correct themselves. Well, those who are claiming we are headed for a depression are not Marxist “alarmists”. They include the chief economist of the World Bank as well as the kingpin of liberal economics, Paul Krugman.
