Between 1992 and his death in 1996 Tupac Shakur released 12 albums, 8 feature film, 50 music videos and 2 books of poetry. Born working class, he managed to go to the Baltimore School of Arts where he studied theater, poetry, jazz and ballet. How class conscious was he? To what extent was he a co-creator of “thug culture” and to what extent was he the victim of it?
