These days it is hard to find a radical labor organizer with the energy of Tony Mazzocchi. Tony not only supported the rank-and-file against leadership wedded to the Democratic Party but he also supported internal democracy within the union.
In his time he tripled the size of his union and built up a strong cadre of shop floor leaders. His started book clubs and even a credit union. He also initiated building an independent labor party.
