Over the decades, Yankee workers have said they prefer more free time to more money. As usual, Yankee capitalists have paid no attention since workers in the US are described as the “hardest working people in the show-business of industrialized countries”. While it might seem that introducing “flexible hours” would support what workers want, in actual practice flexible hours means not having a set schedule and being on call 24/7.
