For those of us who remember H.G. Wells our associations with him might be as a tame, Fabian socialist who wrote some good science fiction books. As this article shows this is not all he was, or even a small part of him. More than poverty, starvation or inequality, Wells thought that overpopulation was the biggest problem. As it turns out Wells was a Malthusian, a Club of Rome advocate 40 years ahead of his time.
