When we look around the world what we find is that none of the center-right countries are respected by their populations. They win elections with a bare plurality of voters. There are strikes and rebellions going on in France, Germany, England and even Israel. Meanwhile banks are failing and the only thing capitalists offer their people is stock options. As the article argues, the word “liberal” no longer means doing, as it did with FDR. Today it has to do with thinking the right thoughts and speaking the right language.
