One of the best things about Labor Notes is not just its organizing conferences and keeping track of workers’ struggles throughout the year. In addition, at the end of every year they provide an overview of how the year went.
This year union workers in the private sector saw a 6% increase in real wages. The first successful auto plant in the South was organized, something that hadn’t been done in decades. There were also improvements in overall wage gains, a rise in the number of union elections and an increase in the building of plants. However, with the selection of The King of Orange for President workers should expect to be attacked, rather than ignored as the Democrats do.
