It used to be that in order to maintain its imperialism, Yankees would invest deeply in propaganda to convince the public that nations competing with Yankees were evil and should cause fear in the US. It worked well with Cuba and Vietnam. These days propaganda against Russia, China, Iran or Venezuela is no longer grounded in the general population. Instead, they are hostile frightened shrills of a ruling class that the world is leaving behind. In the meantime, Russia and China are quietly building their societies and building alliances with the rest of the world.
