One of the first criticisms of worker co-ops from its capitalist enemies is that if everyone makes the same amount of money it will destroy incentives.
On the other hand, worker co-op purists will say if workers don’t make the same amount it is a concession to capitalism. The discussion below is a reaction to Louis Razeto’s book Cooperative Enterprise and the Market Economy. This book clearly goes beyond both of the extreme dualisms presented above.
