It’s natural to suspect that Venezuela’s lack of defense was because its military had sold out. Pepe Escobar points out this was Maduro’s security detail, not the military.
Where was Russia and China in all this? Venezuela has not collapsed and the military and citizens are united. This is a great article which touches many bases.
