Organizing on the Job: Keep it Short and Sweet!

Normally, organizing workers involves long meetings that are off-site.

Both of these circumstances discourage attendance. But what about 10 minute meetings in the parking lot before or after work? Some may say “what can you do in 10 minutes?”.  That depends on how organized you are, according to leaders who have done this. The heart of the meetings is to briefly report on negotiations, remind workers of up-and-coming actions, practice picketing and assign homework. Their frequency makes it much more likely that workers stay involved.
