Noam Chomsky and Democracy Now! on Syria: Fallen Patron Saints?

When many moderate leftists refer to Noam Chomsky or Democracy Now!, their eyes go out of focus as they dutifully bow, scrape and quote. Even anarchists uncharacteristically give Chomsky a pass most of the time. But the hard left cannot afford to laud past heroes and heroines uncritically. This is so blatantly demonstrated in the case of Chomsky’s total lack of skepticism in his analysis of the events in Syria.
