On this May Day rallies were much larger than usual, no doubt in reaction to the edicts of the Orange Lobster Special. In all there were 1,300 rallies across all fifty states including 60,000 workers across the UC system.
The UAW strike at Lockheed Martin, Chicago had the largest city rally in the country with between 7,000 and 10,000 people.
