Keynes vs Von Hayek Debate: A False Dualism

Typically John Maynard Keynes is understood as the champion of the economic policies of FDR, and proponent of New Deal liberalism. On the extreme conservative side is the Austrian school led by Von Hayek.  But this misses what they they both have in common. They both supported Malthusian population theories. They believed that the economy could not be planned and also that public virtue can come out of private vice.
