Did you know that the Republican Party in 1850 was a third party along with the Whigs and the Democratic Party? The Whig party collapsed and the Republican Party rose from its ashes.
John proposes that we are in a situation where the Democratic Party has collapsed into the Republican Party and a new party on the left might emerge from the ashes of the Democratic Party, the way the Republicans did 170 years ago. That party may well be the People’s Party.
