International Ups and Downs: Who’s Rising and Who’s Falling?

World conferences can be used to make promises and threaten or they can be used to make deals. This deal-making can involve “security” such as the building of military bases or the selling of weapons. The other kind of deal-making is the offer to harness energy or build infrastructures.

Through two conferences we can easily identify the United States as committed to one and only kind of deal, security. China sides with those who are not interested in wars or preparing for them. No wonder most countries, if not threatened by Mordor, prefer China. Check out the Chinese trains in Africa.
