It is very tempting to blame individuals for being overweight. After all, it’s just a matter of self-discipline, avoiding junk food and eating healthy – right?
Well, these two 50-minute documentaries (one in US and one in Britain) show how in small cities and small towns, there are NOTHING BUT fast food restaurants. So we should understand this problem dialectically. Initially people might be blamed for starting out with bad eating habits. But when they try to stop, there is no institutional support in the way of places to eat or real supermarkets that carry fruits and vegetables.
