Cryptocurrency was once thought of as a radical-left alternative to the use of the dollar, mediated by banks and the state. But it hasn’t turned out that way. Nevertheless, bitcoin has been successful, reaching $69,000 in late November. But its value has now plunged to S25,000 last week. How much will this impact hedge funds? Only time will tell.
